RESOLUTION NO. 11453 (2023 SERIES)
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN LUIS
OBISPO, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING USE OF THE WATER FUND
UNRESERVED WORKING CAPITAL FUND TO SUPPORT THE WASH
WATER TANK NO. 1 REHABILITATION, SPECIFICATION NUMBER
2000034-03
WHEREAS, in June of 2021, City Council approved the 2021-23 Financial Plan,
which identified the Wash Water Tank No. 1 Rehabilitation (Project) with a budget of
$40,000 for design efforts and $325,000 for construction efforts; and
WHEREAS, in June of 2023, City Council approved the 2023-25 Financial Plan
and increased the appropriation to support construction efforts to $475,000 in the 2023-
24 budget for the Wash Water Tank No. 1 Rehabilitation (2000034-03); and
WHEREAS, the Project’s total construction cost is estimated to be $689,000;
therefore, an additional $215,000 is needed to fund the construction contract; and
WHEREAS, to cover the remaining budget needed to support the construction
contract, staff recommend that City Council appropriate $215,000 from the Water Fund
Unreserved Working Capital Balance to Project 2000034-03; and
WHEREAS, the Water Fund has an Unreserved Working Capital balance of
$13,318,014.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of San Luis
Obispo as follows:

SECTION 1. The City Council appropriates $215,000 from the Water Fund
Unreserved Working Capital Balance to the Wash Water Tank No. 1 Rehabilitation project
account 2000034-03.
Upon motion of Council Member Shoresman, seconded by Mayor Stewart, and on
the following roll call vote:
AYES: Council Member Francis, Pease, Shoresman, and Mayor Stewart
NOES: None
ABSENT: Vice Mayor Marx
The foregoing resolution was adopted this 17th day of October 2023.
