This grant is submitted in partnership with the San Luis Obispo Regional Transit Authority, Monterey -Salinas Transit District, and Santa Barbara Metropolitan Transit District. The requested funds will support a multi -agency fleetwide transition to zero -emission buses (ZEB's) and install charging infrastructure in strategic locations across the California's central coast to provide equitable access to environmentally friendly transit service to a region that spans four counties and serves more than a quarter of California's coastline. Once completed, the Electrifying California's Central Coast Project will add four (4) new ZEBs to the SLO Transit's fleet, increasing the fleet size from two (2) ZEBs to a total of ten (10) ZEBs (including six (6) ZEBs currently on -order). The four (4) new ZEB vehicles will enable the agency to fully transition its bus fleet to zero -emission by the 2040 deadline set in the California Air Resources Board ICT Fleet Rule. SLO Transit remains dedicated to providing equitable access for all riders and the new ZEBs will run on lines that service Priority Populations of the San Luis Obispo Urbanized Area. Thank you in advance for your consideration of this project. I fully support the partnerships between SLO Transit, San Luis Obispo Regional Transit Authority, Monterey -Salinas Transit District, and Santa Barbara Metropolitan Transit District and their efforts. I look forward to the implementation of this regional project and the benefits it will bring across California's scenic central coast. Sincerely, Erica A; Stewart Mayor
