SUBJECT:
Submittal of Plans and Specifications for "Storm Drain Improvement Project,
Osos Street - Islay to S.P.R.R., City Plan No. M -21E11.
CAD RECOMMENDATION:
By motion, approve Plans and Specificatons and Authorize Staff to advertise
for Bids.
BACKGROUND:
DISCUSSION:
There has been a history of flooding at the intersections along Osos near Pismo
due to an inadequate storm drain. This storm drain project will help to
alleviate the problem by diverting a portion of the storm waters into the
waterway near Osos and Leff.
Significant Impact:
The estimated costs are as follows:
i Base Bid: $69,780.00
Contingencies: 5,220.00
Total: $75,000.00
This project is included in the 1987/1989 Capital Improvement Plan.
This project has been given and EIR clearance by the Planning Department.
Status: Categorical Exemption.
CONSEQUENCE OF NOT TAKING ACTION:
The project may be more expensive to construct at a later date and the flooding
will continue.
ACTION RECOMMENDED:
Approve the Plans and Specifications and authorize staff to advertise for bids.
