CAO Recommendation:
By motion, approve plans and specifications and authorize
staff to advertise for bids.
Background:
The existing chlorine building at Stenner Canyon
is approximately 40 years old, and is in a deter

The installation of the new chlorine building is an extension of
Reservoir No. 2's refurbishment project. The project consisted of
covering and lining the reservoir, modifying the influent and
effluent piping, and the installation of a new chlorine building.
Status:
Because this project is not within the City limits, we are in the
process of obtaining all of the necessary building permits which
are requested by the County Planning Department. It is anticipated
that all of the required permits will be obtained by the time of
the bid.

The covering and lining portion of the project was over budget,
therefore, additional funding is required. To accommodate this
project, the McCollum Street Project which is listed in the 1988 -89
Capital Reinvestment Plan will be rebudgeted or funded through
savings from other water distribution projects.
