RE: CON 88-1 WITHDRAWAL
Dear Mr. Hook :
We would respectively request that our application to allow a
condominium conversion at 1045 Southwood drive be withdrawn from
consideration before the City Council. We may at some future time
bring this matter back for review, but it appears to be premature
at this time.
Thank you for your help in this matter.
Sincerely yours:
Terence K. Orton

Dear Mr. Dunn:
The San Luis Obispo Housing Authority is applying to the U.S. Department of
Housing and Urban Development (HUD) for additional Section 8 Housing Vouchers.
As you may recall, we received your jurisdiction's support in the initial
application to utilize this low-income housing assistance in San Luis Obispo
county when we first applied in July of 1986. We are pleased to report that
currently we are under contract for all of the Vouchers issued to us in 1986.
This program is quite similar to the Section 8 Existing Housing program which
you may be more familiar with, and appears to be the Federal Administration' s
preference in delivering housing assistance to low-income families and elderly.
We anticipate applying for between 100-200 additional Vouchers, and part of the
requirement is a letter of support from each of the incorporated cities.
Failure to provide these letters might preclude participation in those
communities not responding. As a county-wide program, the Section 8 and Voucher
Program currently assists over nine hundred families. Nevertheless, there are
still close to twelve hundred applicants on our waiting list .
Since we have had full support throughout the County in the application of our
Section 8 Housing Assistance Program, and have successfully implemented the
Voucher Program, I hope you will be willing to adapt the attached sample letter
for our transmittal to HUD in conjunction with our application for additional
Housing Vouchers. Please return the appropriate document to us by May 1 1988.
If you chose to change the sample -letter, please note that two issues need to be
addressed: 1) approval that the application is consistent with your community' s
Housing Assistance Plan, and 2) that the letter is considered as the final
comment, and that no additional comments will be submitted by your unit of local
government.
Thank you for your assistance in this matter. If you have any questions, please
contact me. Once again, please return your letter to us for transmittal in con-
junction with our application package.
Enclosed is a self-addressed envelope for your convenience. .

Re: Housing Authority of the City of San Luis Obispo
Housing Voucher Program Application
Dr. Bobo:
Pursuant to Section 213(a) of the Housing and Community Development Act, our
City has reviewed the application by the Housing Authority of the City of San
Luis Obispo for additional housing vouchers under the Section 8 Housing Voucher
program. The Housing Authority' s application request is responsive to our
City' s housing assistance needs. The approval of this Housing Voucher appli—
cation is thus consistent with plans to address our City' s housing assistance
needs.
In order to avoid delay in HUD approval of the Housing Authority' s application,
this letter should be considered as our final comments . No additional comments
will be submitted by our City. I ask your office to act favorably on the
Housing Authority' s application.
Sincerely,
In The Superior Court of The State of California
