SUBJECT:
Canvass results of the Special Municipal Election held Tuesday,
June 7, 1988.
CAO RECOMMENDATION:
Adopt resolution declaring the results of the Special !Municipal Election held
Tuesday. June 7, 1988, and order filed.
BACKGROUND:
Pursuant to Section 22932 of the California Elections Code and the City's
Election Campaign Regulations . the governing body must have the election
returns canvassed and adopt a resolution declaring the results of the ballot
measures. As the city' s election was consolidated with the state-wide
Primary election, the canvassing of the returns was performed by the County
Clerk in accordance with Resolution 6401 requesting consolidation. The
canvassing must include all votes cast for each candidate placed on the
General Municipal Election including the number of votes given at each
precinct to each person.
ALTERNATIVES:
1 . Adopt resolution canvassing the returns and order filed.
2. Adopt resolution canvassing the returns and order recount within
five days of its passage.

A RESOLUTION OF THE: COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SAN LUIS OBISPO DECLARING THE RESULTS
OF THE GENERAL, MUNICIPAL ELECTION
HELD TUESDAY. .LUNE 7 . 1988
WHEREAS. a Special Municipal Elert.ion was held in the City of San Luis
Obispo on the 7th day of .lune. 1988 . which election was duly held and
conducted in the manner provided by the Charter of the: City of San Luis
Obispo. and as provided by law for the purpose of voting on the adoption
of two propositions; and
WHEREAS. under the provisions of City Council Resolution No. 6401
( 1988 Series) . the Board of Supervisors was authorized to perform the
official canvass of the .lune 7 . 1988. Special Municipal Election pursuant
to the election laws of the State of California; and
WHEREAS. a statement of the results of said election has been duly
enterers by the. City Clerk in the official records of the City.
NOW. THEREFORE. BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of San Luis
Obispo that :
SECTION 1 . The whole number of votes cast in said election within the
City of San Luis Obispo was 12 ,088 .
SECTION 2. The titles of the measures voted for. the number of votes
given at each precinct for each measure are shown by the tabulation of
votes, marked Exhibit "A" and attached hereto. and by this reference
incorporated herein as though full set forth.
SECTION 3. MEASURE D. the measure having received the highest number
of votes cast at said election for Mobilehome Rent Regulations.
