SUBJECT:
Consideration of request to renegotiate the Cayucos Area Water
users contract.
BACKGROUND:
At the last Whale Rock Commission meeting, Mr. George Brett of
Cayucos requested the Commission consider the feasibility of
renegotiating the contract for the Cayucos Area Water
Organization. His primary purpose was to try to obtain a greater
amount of water for the Cayucos organization.
The current contract is probably most favorable for the Cayucos
Area Water Organization. The main clause that the Commission has
had the most difficulty in complying with relates to providing up
to a maximum of 100 acre feet per month to the Cayucos Area Water
organization.
The staff is requesting some direction from the Commission as to
whether or not they feel it is in the Commission's best interest to
open negotiations to revise our contract with Cayucos Area Water
organization.
