Council Liaison Subcommittee to the Parks & Recreation Commission
SUBJECT: RECOMMENDATION FOR APPOINTMENT TO THE
PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION
In January, the Council appointed Leslie Vartanian to fill an unexpired term. The Council
was notified shortly thereafter that she would not be able to serve due to an unexpected
commitment.
To fill this vacancy, the Subcommittee reviewed eight applications in our current file and
interviewed four applicants. Chairman Paul Orton had planned to participate in the
interview but was called away due to an emergency. At this time the Subcommittee
(Roalman/Reiss) is pleased to recommend the appointment of Wendy Pyper to serve a full
four year appointment beginning April 1, 1991 and to expire on March 31, 1995.
Ms. Pyper's experience gained by serving on the Joint Recreation Use Commitee over the
past six years will bring added value to the Parks and Recreation Commission. A copy of
her application is attached.
All other applications are available in the Council Office for your review.
