Statle , Director of Finance PREPARED BY: Dixon Flynn, File Systems Manager SUBJECT: SURPLUS CITY PROPERTY CAO RECOMMENDATION Adopt a Resolution declaring the property listed in Exhibit A as surplus property. DISCUSSION Section 906 of the City Charter requires that the City Council approve the sale or disposal of property with an estimated value greater than $100. The Director of Public Works has identified the equipment and material listed in Exhibit A as surplus to the needs of Public Works. A list of this equipment and material was reviewed by all Departments and not identified for transfer or retention. Accordingly, the City Council is asked to adopt a Resolution declaring the listed property as surplus property and allow the Staff to sell or otherwise dispose of the property. Under the City's property disposal policies this equipment will be sold at public auction. It is anticipated that the City will receive $1,500 to $2,000 in proceeds from the sale. The auction will be conducted by West Coast Auctioneers in May 1991. ATTACHMENTS Resolution declaring property listed in Exhibit A as surplus property. EXHIBITS A. (1991 Series) A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN LUIS OBISPO DECLARING PROPERTY LISTED IN EXHIBIT A AS SURPLUS PROPERTY BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of San Luis Obispo as follows: SECTION 1. That the City Council hereby declares that all items of personal property listed in Exhibit A attached and incorporated herein by reference are surplus property. SECTION 2. Disposal of the property shall be made by sale at public auction or by another method of disposal in accordance with the City's surplus property policy as determined by the Director of Finance to be in the best interests of the City.
