The project will insure compliance with the NPDES requirements for turbidity, color, and temperature. In addition, the project will provide the necessary treatment to produce a wastewater effluent suitable for reclamation purposes. The City is currently developing an aggressive Water Reclamation Program which will coincide with the completion of the Unit 4 Improvements. The goal of the Water Reclamation program is to begin distribution of the reclaimed water upon completion of the Unit 4 project. Rey components of the Unit 4 Improvements project include: dual media filters; cooling towers; flow equalization; disinfection and dechlorination processes; an upgraded effluent pipeline and discharge structure; stand-by power generation .facilities; a new Administration and Laboratory building; and a ferrous chloride injection system to prevent the generation of hydrogen sulfide in the anaerobic digesters. d I iilillllllll' IIIIII city of San ti....3 OBIspo COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT Unit 4 WWTP Improvements, AWARD Meeting of October 1, 1991 Page 2 On May 21, 1991 Council approved Plans and Specifications for the Unit 4 Wastewater Treatment Plant Improvements Project, City Plan .
