AB 939 & RECYCLING UPDATE (ROMERO/482 - 90 min.) s Consideration of an overview of the California Integrated Waste Management Act of 1989, known as AB 939, and an update on all programs the City is in the process of implementing to meet the waste diversion and reduction goals of AB 939. This includes curbside recycling, commercial recycling, the new sort facility, and the recycling promotional program. RECOMMENDATION: No action required. For informational purposes only. General discussion held. 1 Council Agenda October 7, 1991 BUSINESS ITEMS 2. SUPERVISORIAL REDISTRICTING (DUNN/324 - 15 min.) Consideration of proposed new Supervisorial districts. RECOMMENDATION: Review proposed districts and develop comments for presentation to the Board of Supervisors at a public hearing to be held on October 8, 1991 at 9:30 a.m. Dunn* FINAL ACTION.• Council appointed Councilwoman Rappa, with Councilman Ranna* Roalman as alternate and the City Administrative Officer to represent the City and Roabnan* ,submit a letter to the Board of Supervisors at its October 8th meeting (11:00 am.) urging the Board to reconsider redrawing the proposed Supervisorial districts to provide larger City representation by limiting the City to 2 or 3 Supervisorial districts rather than the proposed 4. 3. STUDENT BEHAVIOR IN THE COMMUNITY (GARDINER - 15 min.) Consideration of an oral presentation by Police Chief Gardiner on student behavior in the community on Friday, September 27, 1991. RECOMMENDATION: Receive oral presentation and consider follow-up comments to be made to Cal Poly University Administration and Cal Poly students. ANNUAL LEAGUE RESOLUTIONS (DUNIN/362 - 5 min.) Consideration of the Annual League Conference resolutions. State law provides that Council take action only on such matters which have been noticed at least three days in advance of the meeting unless special circumstances are found to exist.
