SUBJECT: Appointment Recommendations to the Tree Committee
CAO RECOMMENDATION:
Appoint Barbara Murphy to the Tree Committee for a four year term to expire 3/31/97.
DISCUSSION:
Tom Shevlin is retiring after six years of service to the Tree Committee. All applicants were
considered in selecting a replacement. Based on the review of applications received and
interviews, it was felt that Barbara Murphy was the top candidate. She has been
instrumental in organizing tree planting projects throughout the City resulting in the planting
Of over 200 trees. Her committment to our community and her deep appreciation for trees
make her an excellent choice to fill this vacancy.
Ms. Murphy's application is attached. All other applications are available in the Council
Office for review.
