There has been a member-at-large vacancy on the Mass Transportation Committee since
September. The vacancy was advertised in the newspaper and posters were also displayed
on City busses announcing the vacancy. Four applications were subsequently received. The
Council Subcommittee interviewed three of those applicants. The fourth candidate was out
of town and unable to be interviewed.
The Council Subcommittee unanimously recommends the appointment of Randall LaVack
to fill this unexpired term. Mr. LaVack's technical knowledge and expertise will benefit the
committee.
The Council Subcommittee also thanks James Forrer for his service to the committee.
Mr. LaVack's application is attached. The others are available in the Council office for your
review.
