PETITION FROM RESIDENTS OF LINCOLN STREET AND WEST STREET TO THE SAN
LUIS OBISPO CITY COUNCIL CONCERNING TRAFFIC FLOW RESTRICTIONS ON CHORRO
STREET.
We, the undersigned residents of Lincoln Street and West Street,
Y. to voice our opposition to any traffic flow restrictions on Chorro
!et which would cause increased vehicular traffic on Lincoln Street
and West Street.
We understand, and appreciate, the concern the Chorro Street
residents have for the volume and speed of traffic on Chorro Street.
While Chorro Street has historically been a route for Foothill area
drivers to and from downtown,West Street and Lincoln Street have been
used soley to serve those residences between Chorro Street and Stenner
Creek between Highway 101 and West Street.
We would further expect that before any restrictions are placed on
Chorro Street that a study of traffic flow on West Street and Lincoln
Street be made. In addition, should restrictions be placed on Chorro
Street, that a follow-up traffic flow study be made and if a 108 or
greater increase in traffic is found, the restrictions on Chorro Street
be removed.
