Mayor Settle expressed concerns regarding the Avila Beach clean-up waste material being stored at the UNOCAL site. Mayor Settle asked Council to anticipate a meeting with North County regarding the Nacimiento Water Project in March or April of 1996. Mayor Settle called attention to vacancies on two Channel Counties Division subcommittees. Mayor Settle asked his colleagues to join him at the League of Women Voters 75th Anniversary celebration on Saturday, November 18, from 3:00 to 5.00 p.m. at the City/County Library. 2 Council Agenda Tuesday, November 14, 1995 Mayor Settle asked that the December 19, 1995 City Council meeting be cancelled due to the Christmas holidays but with the proviso that a meeting would be held on that date due to pressing issues. MODIFICATION TO MARSH STREET CONTRACT (SETTLE/ROMERO) Consideration of a contract modification on the Marsh Street project. + RECOMMENDATION: By motion, 1) modify Marsh Street project replacing the 17 stamped concrete crosswalks with thermoplastic crosswalks; and, 2) expend the money saved by applying paving blankets on adjacent downtown streets. APPEAL OF BUILDING PERMIT APPLICATION (ROMERO/407) Public hearing to consider an appeal by Elaine Simer of a determination by the Chief Building Official that a transient occupancy use, including an existing residential structure and an additional one to be moved onto the property located at 1292 Foothill Boulevard, must comply with requirements of the California State Building Code disabled handicap accessibility. ♦ RECOMMENDATION: Consider appeal FINAL ACTION.
