SUBJECT: Adoption of the 1994 editions of the Uniform Codes and the 1993
edition of the National Electrical Code.
CAO RECOMMENDATION:
Give final passage to Ordinance No. 1287 (1995 Series) (1) repealing Chapter 15.04 and
Section 17.16.100 of the San Luis Obispo Municipal Code, and (2) creating a new
Chapter 15.04 adopting the 1994 editions of the Uniform Codes and the 1993 National
Electrical Code with amendments, AND give final passage to Ordinance No. 1288 (1995
Series) (1) repealing Chapter 15.08 of the San Luis Obispo Municipal Code and (2)
creating a new Chapter 15.08 adopting the 1994 edition of the Uniform Fire Code with
amendments.
DISCUSSION:
On November 21, 1995, the City Council held a public hearing regarding proposed
changes to Chapters 15 and 17 of the Municipal Code and subsequently passed to print
Ordinances No. 1287 and 1288 adopting the most recent editions of the Uniform Codes
with carry-over amendments from previous code adoptions.
FISCAL IMPACT:
There are no significant fiscal impacts.
