SUBJECT: DECEMBER CITY COUNCIL MEETINGS
RECOMMENDATION
By motion, direct staff to cancel the regular City Council meeting of December 16, 1997.
DISCUSSION
Over the past several years it has been the practice not to schedule City Council meetings during
the holiday season. This custom allows citizens, Council and staff members to plan holiday trips
and activities without having to schedule around meetings and agenda deadlines. Getting back to
business as usual after the first of the year will promote a more efficient address of issues, without
the distraction of hectic holiday schedules. It is not anticipated that the cancellation of the
December 16"meeting will produce any significant delays of the conduct of Council business.
