SUBJECT: Appointment of new BIA Board of Directors Members
RECOMMENDATION:
By motion,approve the appointment of reelected/newly elected Business Improvement
Association Board of Directors members: (Reelected)Mike Stanton, Brett Weaver;(Newly
Elected)Doug Shaw,Joe DiLucia,Paul Brown, Bob Schinkel.
DISCUSSION:
The BIA completed its annual elections in February 1998 for the Board of Directors
positions with terms expiring March 31, 1998 (six total). In accordance with the by-laws,
all candidates meet the BIA Board membership requirements.
The ballots were mailed out the to general membership on 1 February with a return deadline
of 17 February. The returned ballots were then tabulated by the BIA nominating
committee;the election results will be confirmed by the BIA Board of Directors at its March
10, 1998 meeting. Incoming board members need City Council approval before they can
assume office.
The following BIA members were elected to serve one two-year term ending 31 March
1999:
Brett Weaver,Kennedy Club Fitness
Mike Stanton,Cisco's
Doug Shaw,The Sanctuary Tobacco Shop
Joe DiLucia,Commercial Property Development
Paul Brown, Mothers'Tavern
Bob Schinkel,Poster Markei
