FROM: Michael D.McCluskey,Public Works Director 1
Prepared by: Reinie Jones,Engineering Assistant
SUBJECT: Reservoir Canyon Waterline,Specification No. 95-60
CAO RECOMMENDATION:
1. Approve plans and specifications for"Reservoir Canyon Waterline,Specification No. 9.6-60"
2. Authorize staff to advertise for bids and authorize the CAO to award the contract if the lowest
responsible bid is within budget.
DISCUSSION:
In the early 1900's an agreement was established that made the City responsible for supplying water
to six Reservoir Canyon residences. The Hanson Gularte pipeline was supplying the residences
with water until 1995 when the Hanson Gularte pipeline was damaged. Initially, the City paid for
water trucks to deliver and fill tanks in Reservoir Canyon. Since this was too costly, City water
distribution maintenance staff installed a temporary booster system to supply the residences with
water.
This project will replace the temporary pump and piping system with a permanent pump station and
piping system.
CONCURRENCES:
Staff has received a categorical exemption from the Community Development Department.
