Approve plans and specifications for"Reservoir Canyon Waterline,Specification No. 9.6-60" 2. Authorize staff to advertise for bids and authorize the CAO to award the contract if the lowest responsible bid is within budget. DISCUSSION: In the early 1900's an agreement was established that made the City responsible for supplying water to six Reservoir Canyon residences. The Hanson Gularte pipeline was supplying the residences with water until 1995 when the Hanson Gularte pipeline was damaged. Initially, the City paid for water trucks to deliver and fill tanks in Reservoir Canyon. Since this was too costly, City water distribution maintenance staff installed a temporary booster system to supply the residences with water. This project will replace the temporary pump and piping system with a permanent pump station and piping system. CONCURRENCES: Staff has received a categorical exemption from the Community Development Department. FISCAL EMPACT Estimated Project Cost: Contract to install Hansen-Gularte Pipeline Engineer's Estimate $53,100 Contingencies t $10,500 Total $63,600 1 Contingencies include equipment and connections to be supplied by Farm Supply This is the third component of the total Hansen-Gularte CIP project approved in the 1995-97 Financial Plan(1995-97 Financial Plan, Appendix B -Capital Improvement Plan, page 32-33). The total funding approved for the four phases was $220,000, of which$60,100 remains to support this project. The additional budget($3,500) is recommended to come from Water Distribution Improvements CIP account, 500-9067-510-553. Funding for the fourth component will be analyzed and recommended at the time of the 1998-99 budget preparation. ATTACHMENTS: Plans and Specifications are available in the Council Office
