CAO RECONIlMUMA17ION:
1. Approve plans and specifications for "Water Reclamation Facility Pavement Repair,
Specification #97-55A"
2. Authorize staff to advertise for bids and authorize the CAO to award the contract if the lowest
responsible bid is within budget.
DISCUSSION:
The Water Reclamation Facility pavement condition and equalization basin walls have deteriorated
significantly over the last few years. This project will repair all damaged pavement, fix minor
drainage problems and repair the equalization basin walls. After this project is completed, the
pavement and equalization basin will be slurry sealed as a part of a larger public works slurry seal
project.
CONCURRENCES:
Staff has received a categorical exemption from the Community Development Department.

Contingencies $6,500
Total $72,000
A total of$120,000 was approved as a part of the 1996-97 budget to support pavement repair at
the Water Reclamation Facility(1995-97 Financial Plan,Appendix B,pages 63-64). This is
phase one of the project, and is estimated to cost$72,000. None of the funding has been spent to
date, so the full$120,000 is available in the Water Reclamation Facility Major Equipment
Replacement account(520.9639.512.553)to support phase one of the paving projecL
