Please let me give you the reasons I would like to serve on the Commission and what talents and skills I believe I would bring to the committee. I am a Certified Public Accountant by profession. I have a B.A.in Psychology, and minor in Business. I have lived in San Luis Obispo for the last 12 years working in the Banking and Real Estate Industry. I am well versed in all aspects of Finance and Real Estate. Project Planning and approval process is something I am familiar with and understand as well as zoning, densities, city budgets, infrastructure, water issues, and affordability housing for our community. My CPA experience has brought me in contact with a variety of business issues including, budgeting, cash flow, cost control, employee and planning issues as well. I have a history of service to our community. I have served as President of several non-profit boards in our city and have encouraged my employees to do the same. I worked in the background and was instrumental in moving the Prado Site forward for the People's Kitchen facilities. Lastly,I have a very friendly personality and am a very good listener. I believe this is essential to this position. A commissioner needs to be a good listener, willing to look for solution that take into account the needs of all citizens not just a select few.I would look to our city resolutions, ordinances and staff for direction on my votes,as well as our citizens. Please do not dismiss or embrace my application because of my business background as some would suggest.I understand the committee is to represent the best interest of the whole community not just a certain group. I have applied because I truly believe I could bring much to the commission,as well as my sincere desire to provide a public service to our community. Thank you for your consideration.
