SUBJECT: FORMALIZE COUNCIL DIRECTION TO STAFF RELEVANT TO
THE MARSH STREET GARAGE EXPANSION BID AWARD
CAO RECOMMENDATION
Give formal direction to staff to bring back to the City Council the bids and contract award for
the Marsh Street Garage Expansion Project.
DISCUSSION
During a special meeting on September 28, 2000 regarding the rebid of the Marsh Street Garage
expansion project, the City Council gave specific direction to staff to authorize the City
Administrative Officer to award the contract if the lowest responsible bid is within the
Engineer's estimate. On December 5, 2000 the City Council, during Communications, discussed
reconsideration of that action and requested that staff bring the bids and the contract award back
• to the City Council. Staff recommends that the City Council formalize that change in direction
for the record.

The City Attorney and Public Works Director concur with the recommendation.
