Background
On May 29, 2001, the Cultural Heritage Committee (CHC) determined that the structure at 756
Palm Street is historically and architecturally significant, and that the proposed replacement
structure is not architecturally compatible with the surrounding area. The appellant disagrees
with the CHC determination. On June 8, 2001, Brian Campbell filed an appeal on behalf of the
property owner/applicant, Ralph Peters. The appeal was scheduled for the July 17, 2001
meeting, which satisfies the City requirement that the Council consider appeals within 45 days of
the file date. Due to scheduling conflicts, the appellant has now requested that the item be
continued to the September 18, 2001 meeting. Attachment 1 is a copy of the appellant's letter
dated June 22, 2001.
