SUBJECT: Light Standards ❑ MM DI
I have noticed the new light standards for Osos and I iguera Streets are a forest green color. This
new deeper color is much better looking and because the forest green is powder-coated, will last
a great deal longer. On the other hand, the olive green must be painted regularly because the
painted surface chips, sticks to flyers, fades, resulting in an eyesore and a costly maintenance
mess. The previous paint looks good when it's new, but as it ages, we end up with a faded, dull
look. The forest green looks better and would be more cost effective, maintenance wise.
I know that a long process was used in deciding the current color and don't want to upset the
apple cart, however, I am requesting that Council ask the Architectural Review Commission and
staff take a fresh look at this item, in light of today's available product, and newer color choices.
Thank you.
