I decided to open my own general services welding shop shortly thereafter. Since 1989 my concentration has been on artistic applications. Dave Curry joined me in 1995. Dave is trained as an architect and is a strong designer in his own right. Our enthusiasm for what we do often carries our imaginations beyond the scope of the work. When my team and I are involved in our design and fabrication processes, I am sometimes reminded of comic book super heroes. It's the"Galactic Metal Sculpture League" in their secret underground lair, forging an aesthetic path into new and fantastic realms and keeping the forces of evil on the run. In all sincerity, it is our collective imaginations and skills that have taken our work to the level it's at today. We are proof positive that the sum is greater than the individual parts. Our focus is on highly refined and well-crafted furniture for both public and private spaces, public art, and architectural adornments; stairways, gates, light fixtures, hardware and fireplace elements. Recent projects have taken us from the deserts of the Coachella Valley, to the shores of Lake Michigan,to the San Francisco Peninsula. In addition to our commitment to produce innovative work of the highest caliber,we feel it's important to contribute back to our community. We contribute time, art pieces, and money to a variety of causes. We also practice our craft with a vigorous eye towards environmental responsibility. Our work, to be called successful, must be a source of enrichment and joy for everyone who comes in contact with it. Thank you for your interest! Allen Root Attachment 1 Page 5 of 6 This is what we are about... INNOVATIVE DESIGN Our designs are distinctive, unique and versatile. Our collaborative vision acts as a springboard enabling a project to perfectly ft the client's image or expectation. DURABILITY The life of all of our products can be measured in decades, not weeks or years. From the weight of the stocks used, to the finishes chosen, to the assembly and installation, choices are made with consideration of the product's lifespan. We take responsibility for those choices and stand behind our products. GOOD VALUE We ALWAYS deliver more to our clients than was bargained for. This concept is independent of the work's price level. CRAFTSMANSHIP A high level of attention is paid to details, dimensions, finishing and presentation during all phases of the project. We always deliver a product that we can be proud of. EARTH RESPONSIBILITY We choose our materials and processes with consideration for our impact on humanity and the environment. We refuse to build throw-away items. Therefore, it important that our products continue to function well through a long lifespan. We dispose of hazardous materials responsibly. We contribute back to our community. EXECUTION We produce our product in a timely manner, taking into account the inherent variable nature of custom work. Our goal is to keep within scheduling parameters at all times. We hold communication with our clients during the course of the job as a vital part of the job's success. We operate in a dean and safe manner and take responsibility for our clients and their property at all times during the course of our job. ENRICHMENT For our work to be a true success, it must enrich everyone that comes in contact with it. A desirable, legitimate end never justifies some unsavory or destructive means. To paraphrase a good friend of mine, "if it ain't fun, forget it."
