Reappoint Sandy Baer to a one-year term beginning on April 1, 2002 and expiring on March 31, 2003. 2. Appoint Cate Norton to a four-year term beginning on April 1, 2002 and expiring on March 31, 2006. DISCUSSION Two terms will expire on the PCC on March 31, 2002. After advertising and interviewing nine applicants, the Council Subcommittee is pleased to recommend reappointing Sandy Baer to a one-year term and appointing Cate Norton to a four-year term. Please explain why you would like to serve on the Promotional Coordinating Committee. I have always felt a responsibility to serve and protect the quality of life in my community. Because of my background 6 public relations,fiord raising, and the arts, I think the PCC would be the right place for me to contribute my time and talent. I 2. Have you ever attended a PCC meeting or a meeting of any other City advisory body? What observations did you make? I have attended several PCC meetings, City Council meetings and annual budget planning sessions. I have always been impressed with the commitment displayed by not only the committee members but the large number of concerned citizens that often attend. 3. What unique qualities, experience and expertise would you bring to the PCC? I am not sure of my uniqueness however I have a strong background in arts administration and have been a grant writer and development director for many years. I have been associated with two very successful arts organizations(Mozart Festival and SLO Symphony)setting up their development offices and serving as development director.Now as the director of sales with Embassy Suites I am very involved in bringing groups to the area and other tourism activities. I have lived in the Northeast,Mid Atlantic,and Nfidwest experiencing life in large metropolitan areas as well as small communities. I am now raising family in SLO and cherish the opportunities and quality of life this great city offers us. 4.
