Re: Request of P&R Commission re: Laguna Lake Master Plan
I would like to request that we ask staff to place the request of our Parks and Recreation
Commission on the Consent segment of an upcoming Council agenda for formal Council
consideration
As I understand the request from the commission's memo as well as from conversations
with Pete Duman and Paul LeSage,the commission simply wants the Council's
permission to review the status of the Laguna Lake Park Master Plan with the thought
that there aright be good reason(given the City's recent acquisition of so much passive
open space)to consider adding more active recreational activities into the park Such
study sessions would be conducted with the understanding that no commitment is
intended by the Council for capital expenditures in the foreseeable future.
I think this request is perfectly reasonable and should be encouraged to keep ahead of
potential demands that are often responded to in haste.
