The subject matter of the meeting was the recently completed model of the Paso Robles Groundwater Basin. As you remember, the Phase I component of the study was completed last year, which was basically a status snapshot in time of the basin recharge, use and perennial yield. The Phase II work just completed takes that information and builds a dynamic model which allows planners and water managers to change inputs, such as increased water use due to a land use change in a given area, and model the effects on the Paso Robles Groundwater Basin. Over time, assuming the model is updated regularly, the accuracy of the model will improve as modeled effects can be compared to actual changes in the basin. All in all, the consultants appear to have done an excellent job and the study and modeling of the Paso Robles Groundwater Basin looks like it will be a very valuable tool in making future decisions for the North County. If you have any questions regarding this meeting, please feel free to call Utilities Director,John Moss. CiZ
