It was during the open forum at the start of your meeting. I talked about my
agency,called, "D.A.P.P.E.R." (Differently Abled Proud People Exercising
Rights). My website is htto://daoaer.us. It is an advocacy agency meant to
help the people that members of the houseless community. I use that term,
because it is more appropriate the"homeless". If you want to look at the
bright side to the situation, home is where the heart is, so I don't feel
that anyone is really"homeless".
Now in this same frame of mind,think of people in the community as a new
form of"pioneers". If you recall, back in school,when you took history
class, you learned of the pioneers who settled the west. Not all of them
were perfect and they didn't always have the best goals in mind.Just like
today,there are many people,trying to find their place in the world.The
world is different now,but it is also the same in many ways.There are just
a lot more faces and a lot more need.With my agency, I am hoping to make a
difference in the lives of many who have given up.To show them that there
is another way to look at their situations and find hope for the future and
confidence in themselves,just as they are.
I plan to come back to you are address some of the issues that have come to
light. I would also like to introduce you to some of the faces and show you
that each person has a purpose and a light of energy inside them. It is just
expressed IN an different way.
I am currently working with the Small Business Development Center,the
Women's Economic Venture Board. I just talked to the citys Economic
Development Manager,and I have made contacts with both US Senators,the
governor, State Senators, and organizations, local and national. I ma doing
MY life's work and it is exciting. It is also something that will improve
the lives of many!!!

was not being accepted for who I am!!! I am very
proud of what I have overcome and who I am!!! My
