SUBJECT: Communication Item—Ron Dunin
I have made tentative arrangements with those handling the estate of Ron Dunin for the City to
acquire a number of documents regarding Ron's City Council and Mayoral service. I think it
would be appropriate for the City to display these documents, plaques and awards in the glass
display case in the rotunda of City Hall. If the Council concurs, we can direct staff to follow
through.
During Arbor Day I observed that the monument honoring Ron, as the individual who started the
commemorative grove, is not displayed in such a manner that it attracts the public to stop and
read it. If the Council concurs, we can direct staff to review the setting of the monument and
make appropriate modifications so as to upgrade and improve its appearance.
