Subject: Cable television ordinance
CAO RECOMMENDATION:
Give final passage to Ordinance No. 1238 establishing a cable television ordinance governing
all cable television operators in the City.
DISCUSSION
On May 25, 1993 an ordinance will be introduced to establish provisions in the City code
which govern cable television operators. The second reading of this ordinance has been
placed on the June 1 agenda so that it may be effective at the beginning of the new fiscal
year (July 1), and prior to the execution of an agreement with Sonic Cable Television. If,
however, the City Council does not introduce this ordinance on May 25, then the second
reading will be postponed accordingly.
Note:
The cable television ordinance is available for review in the City Clerk's Office.
