SUBJECT: APPOINTMENT TO THE PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION
RECOMMENDATION
Appoint Susan Updegrove to the Parks and Recreation Commission to fill an unscheduled
vacancy with a term ending on March 31,2013.
DISCUSSION
Due to the resignation of Parks and Recreation Commissioner Kylie Hatch effective August 10,
2011,there is an unscheduled vacancy on the Parks and Recreation Commission. Staff
advertised for the vacant position in accordance with statutory requirements.
Council Liaison Subcommittee Members Mayor Jan Marx and Council Member Dan Carpenter
conducted the interviews on October 3, 2011. Following the interview the Subcommittee
Members recommended the appointment of Ms. Updegrove.
