associated with homelessness in the City of San Luis Obispo .
•Homelessness has become a fear-driven topic on both sides .
Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe is quoted as saying,"In all things it is bette r
to hope than to despair ." So, today ,
•We need to get our better brains engaged with expressions of wha t
our shared hopes are .
•We need to move past positions to what the outcomes and solutio n
needs to satisfy .
•We encourage participation from all attendee s
•We are here to foster solutions that incorporate diverse points of vie w
•Staff will be taking down public input ; so your ideas will be captured .
Here are some basic ground rules :
•Turn off all cell phones or make sure they are on vibrate .
•Show mutual respect ;respect others when they are talking an d
don't interrupt . Please, no disruptive side conversations .
•
•Accept the fact that there will be differences of opinion .Be ope n
to new ideas by respecting the opinions of other s
▪Build on what has been said,do not knock down others' idea s
.Treat each other with respect
If you agree with a point being made — wave raise your hand s
If you disagree with a point being made — thumbs dow n
•Be conci▪se so everyone has an opportunity to participate .I f
what you were going to say has been stated, you don't have t o
speak, or you can just state that you agree with previous speakers . I f
you can make your comments in less than three minutes we ca n
