COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT MEM NUMBS: -
FROM: William C. Statler, Director of Finance Dixon Flyn in nce Systems Manager
SUBJECT: Sale of Surplus City Property
CAO RECOMMENDATION
Adopt the attached Resolution declaring the property listed in Exhibit A as surplus property
to allow the sale at public auction or by direct sale to other public agencies, or by another
method of disposal as determined by the Director of Finance to be in the best interests of
the City.
DISCUSSION
Section 906 of the City Charter requires that the City Council approve the sale of surplus
property with an estimated value greater than $100.
The Director of Public Works has identified the property listed in Exhibit A as surplus to
the needs of the Public Works Department. Accordingly, the City Council must declare this
property as surplus to the needs of the City and authorize disposal before Staff may sell or
otherwise dispose of the property listed in Exhibit A.
Under the City's property disposal policies, this property has been offered to other City
_ Departments, and no department identified the property listed as required for City services.
' After the Council's surplus determination, this property will be offered to other local
government agencies prior to being sold at public auction. It is anticipated that $1,000 to
$3,000 will be received in proceeds by sale at public auction. The auction will be con-
ducted by West Coast Auctioneers in May of 1990.
