SUBJECT:
Submittal of Plans and Specifications for "Sewer Main Reconstruction
Project: Rockview Easement, City Plan No. P-40R. "
RECOMMENDATION:
By Motion Approve Plans and Specifications for "Sewer Main
Reconstruction Project: Rockview Easement, City Plan No. P-40R, "
and Authorize Soliciting of Bids and Contract Award by the CAO, if
the Lowest Responsible Bid is Within the Engineer's Cost Estimate.
BACKGROUND:
The subject sewer main has been identified for replacement because its
condition has deteriorated to a point where it can no longer be
serviced. The line has many cracks and entire sections are displaced
and broken, a condition which inevitably will lead to blockages and
backups. The existing 6-inch main will be upgraded to an 8-inch main
as outlined in the Wastewater Management Plan.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Engineer's Estimate: $83,080.00
Contingencies: S 8 . 300.00
Total: $91,-380. 00
The 1989-91 Financial Plan and approved Budget (1989-90) was
$250,000.00 allocated for replacement of sewage collection mains, of
which $85, 000.00 was allocated to fund this project.
This project has been given an EIR clearance by the Planning
Department.
Status: Categorical Exemption.
Plans and Specifications are Available in the Council Office for
Review.
