Statler, Director of Finan kk ' d PREPARED BY: Dixon Flynn, Finance Systems Manag SUBJECT: SURPLUS CITY PROPERTY CAO RECOMMENDATION Adopt a Resolution declaring the property listed in Exhibit A as surplus property. DISCUSSION Section 906 of the City Charter requires that the City Council approve the sale or disposal of property with an estimated value greater than $100. City Department Heads have identified the vehicles listed in Exhibit A as surplus vehicles. These vehicles have been replaced in accordance with the replacement guidelines (cost of operation, maintenance status, and vehicle condition) in the City's Fleet Management Program. Accordingly, the City Council is asked to adopt a Resolution declaring the listed vehicles as surplus property and allow the Staff to sell or otherwise dispose of the property. Under the City's property disposal policies these vehicles have been offered to other City Departments in lieu of their currently assigned vehicles. After the Council's surplus determination, this property will be offered to other local government agencies prior to being sold at public auction. It is anticipated that the City will receive $8,000 to $10,000 in proceeds by sale at public auction. The auction will be conducted by West Coast Auctioneers in December 1990.
