The Financial Report for January 2005 were presented and accepted.
ITEM #1: Brochure – Shirley Howe
Shirley Howe & Josef Kasperovich, creators of the new brochure, discussed ideas about
the new Jack House & Jack House Gardens brochure.
A brochure committee was formed and includes Bill Pyper, Richard Dresp and Katchy
Andrews.
A request was made to include a garden/plant map in the new brochure.
Jack House Committee would like the completed brochure by June 24th.
ITEM #2: Victorian Game Day
A written proposal and budget for Victorian Game Day, June 26, 2005, were presented
to the committee.
A motion was made to approve the $3,500.00 budget for the Victorian Game
Day. The motion was passed unanimously.
ITEM #3: Elevator Shaft
Three options were discussed as what to do with the Jack House elevator shaft.
1) Do nothing.
2) Remove elevator shaft and place Bay Windows back into the Jack House.
3) Leave the shaft and do something different with it.
A history of the elevator shaft should be preserved and displayed in someway for tours.
The Jack House has been restored to reflect the 1880’s, but the elevator represents a
1960’s change.
Committee would like more research done to make sure there are no limitations or
regulations that need to be considered on the local, state or national level for historical
landmarks.
Committee would like input from Ken Schwartz.
