MINUTES
Parks and Recreation Administrative Office
Wednesday, February 8, 2006 5:00 PM
CALL TO ORDER: Chair Ron Batterson called the meeting to order at 5:34 p.m.
ROLL CALL: Committee Members Bill Pyper, John Tischler, Gerry Johnson and Patrick Mayeda
ABSENT: Vice Chair Wes Conner
GUESTS: Jackie Kane
STAFF: Rich Ogden and Larry Tolson
PUBLIC COMMENT PERIOD:
There was no public comment.
CONSIDERATION OF MINUTES AND FINANCIAL REPORT:
The notes of January 2006 meeting were reviewed and accepted.
The Financial Report for January 2006 was presented and accepted.
ITEM #1: Gutters for the Gift Shop
Tolson reported that a rain gutter could be place on the front end, above the front door
of the Gift Shop for $300 and $150 per side for gutter guards.
o A motion was made to authorize Larry Tolson to install rain gutters and gutter
guards to the front of the gift shop for $450. The motion passed unanimously.
ITEM #2: Installation of the Bird Bath
No information was available at this time.
Reports and Updates
Monthly Activities – Staff & Public Works
Rich Ogden Reported on the following:
o Invitations to the Advisory Committee Dinner were sent out.
o There is a need to recruit new Jack House Committee Members.
o Made a request for a list of 3-5 items from the Jack House committee reflecting the
accomplishments for 2005.
o Jack House Committee elections will be held in April 2006.
Larry Tolson reported on the following:
o Public Works staff noticed new sprouts coming up in the garden.
o Contractor (CML) will start soon on the Garden Improvements projects.
o The Garden bench was ordered and will be delivered sometime after March 7, 2006.

Docent Activities
Jackie Kane reported the following:
o There are possibly 2 or 3 new Docents available to start soon.
o The next Docent training will be held the first weekend in April.
o The sign on the front door fell and needs to be replaced.
o The estimate on the donated china from the Schwartz family is over $1,200.
o New docent training manuals are needed.
o The Manse on March will be contacted for possible new Docents.
Member Comments
o Committee Member Pyper noted that there is a need for a new and more aggressive
Docent recruitment program.
o Johnson reported a need for new Jack House Committee members.
o Batterson announced the Advisory Appreciation Dinner will be held on March 16,
2006.

No communications were presented.

Recreation Administration Office.
