CONSIDERATION OF MINUTES MOTION: (Batterson/Settle) Approve the October 11, 2013 minutes as submitted. Approved: 7 yes: 0 no: 0 absent CONSIDERATION OF FINANCIAL REPORT MOTION: (Batterson/Nelson) Approve the October 11, 2013 Financial Report as submitted. Approved: 7 yes: 0 no: 0 absent REGULAR ITEMS 1. Flowers for Christmas - (Kincaid) Member Toni Kincaid stated that $300 has been allotted for Victorian Christmas flowers. Kincaid commented that the flowers (consisting of five white and five red poinsettias) will be delivered Monday, December 2, at 9:00 a.m. Chair Ron Batterson stated that he will work with Member Toni Kincaid to check Christmas lights before December 2. 2. Paragon Design Payment (Setterlund) Staff Member Dave Setterlund stated that the Jack House Committee received a bill from Paragon Designs for additional ADA design for the amount of $173.23. Jack House Committee Minutes November 13, 2013 Page 2 of 2 MOTION: (Batterson/Johnson) Approve the payment of $173.23 for the additional design work. Approved: 7 yes: 0 no: 0 absent 3. Parks and Recreation Update (Setterlund) Staff Member Dave Setterlund stated that the Recreation Department is very busy with upcoming projects. Pool Closure December 8-10, Ranger Trail Workday November 15, Golf course closure for silt removal. Member Kincaid and Chair Batterson will walk the Jack House property and create a punch list for Public Works. 4. Docent Activities (Kincaid) Member Toni Kincaid requested the removal of the screen door from the front of the Jack House and that the door should be placed in the Carriage House. Staff Member Setterlund commented that he will reach out to Public Works and have the screen door removed. Member Kincaid noted that the History Museum hosted a Cemetery tour that grossed over $6000. Member Kathy Settle expressed that the Cemetery tour was very well done. Member Kincaid mentioned that the second date of the Haunted House was canceled; Kincaid will meet with Shelly to discuss the closure further. Member Kincaid explained that Marilyn Carsells will be at the Docent Appreciation Dinner and can help schedule docents to work the event. Member Kincaid mentioned that the building was not open for the past Sunday’s tour and that the rover was called three separate times. Staff Member Setterlund stated that he has been working with Facilities to curb opening and closing issues with the Jack House and facility staff. 5. Member Comments/Communications (Batterson) Member Marcia Nelson expressed concern over reimbursement from the cancellation of the Haunted House tour. Nelson also expressed appreciation regarding the additional signage informing the public of the Haunted Jack House cancellation. Chair Batterson requested assistance on the morning of Monday, December 2, for exterior light decoration. Staff Member Dave Setterlund volunteered to assist with the exterior light decoration on December 2, at 9:00 a.m. Meeting adjourned at 6:50 p.m. Next meeting is January 8, 2014 at 5:30 pm at the San Luis Obispo Parks and Recreation Administration Office.
