Council met in adjsourn sessi6= Present: Councilman:
O.C. Hill, Geo. H. Andrews, Dick Sanders, Mayor ; A.Luchessa.
Absent: L.F. Sinsheimer.
The Council having adjourned to this date for the express
pur-pose of making adjustments in the present water ordinence
and after having dicussed the matter decided to -not pr.:aceed;. -.
fnrthsr in the matter , and on motion duly seconded Council
adjourns,

Council met in regular session. Mayor 41.11, Stover before
calling the meeting to order, ptesented his Certificate of Rlection,
to the Clerk and requested that the newly elocted Members of the
Council also present hhiers, As all members do not comply with
the above request the Clerk was instructed to read Kinutes of
the Yeeting of the Council held on the 7th day of April, 1915,
the same being for the canvass of the election returns of General
Municipal Election held in thisuCity:,:dn the 5th day of April, 1915,
and the declaration of the eletion of certain officials to certain
offices for which they received a majority of votes cast,

Present, Councilman. Geo. H. Andrews, Dick Sanders, L.F. Sinsheimer,
H.1., Gowman. Mayor. W.M. Stover.
Minutes of the previous meetings were read, and on motion
of Geo. H. Andrews, seconded by Dick Sanders the same were approved
appa-� as read,
Communication of Mayor W.H. Stover to the Council, was read
and on motion of L.F. Sinsheimer seconded by Geo. H. Andrews was
ordered placed on file. Motion carried.
Moved by H.A. Gowman seconded by Geo. H. Andrews that
Dick Sanders be nominated as Cgmmissioner of Finance and Revenue.
Motion carried by the following vote, Ayes: Geo. H. Andrews,
Dick Sanders, L.F. Sinsheimer, H.A. Gowman,

On motion of L.F. Sinsheimer,Geo. H. Andrews was nominated
as Commissioner of Public Health and Safety.
On motion of Dick Sandcrs , H.A. Gowman was nominated as
Commissioner of Public Health and Safety.
Votes were cast as follows, For nominationnofc;Commsssioner

as follows: Ayes: L.F. Sinsheimer, Geo, H. Andrews,

was declared nominated Commissioner of Public Works.
Moved by H.A. Gowman seconded by Dick Sanders that
Geo. H. Andrews be nominated Commissioner of Public Supplies.
Notion carried by the following vote. Ayes.;..Deo:cHs Andrewsq
Dick Sanders, L.F. Sinsheimer, H.A. Gomman. Noes; None,
Absent: none.
Application Building permit of D.O. Clifford, to
erect temporary residence on Lots 1 & 2, Block 4, Buena Vista
Addition. _Probable cost-

Dnvmotion of L.F. Sinsheimer seconded by Dick Sanders the
above permit was granted. .
Application of Lars. Glennie E. Elder for permit to
erect addition to residence, on hots 6 & 2, Block 3, Southside
Addition. Probable cost--

Andrews the above permit was gtanted.
Application of Bernard D. Silsby for hermit to
erect residence on Lot 10, Block 18, Central Addition.

On motion of H.A. Gowman seconded by Dick Sanders
the above application for permit was granted.

Communication of W. E. Lawrence, Secretary of The General Fourth
71 of July Committee, asking that the Council grant the privilege
of the use of the streets for entertainme.nt�-.,and concession purposes
as deemed fit by the Council and the committee in charge, on the
t� 4th day of July, 1915.
On motion of H.A. Gowman,-;;seconded by Dick Sanders the above
privilege asked for was granted.
Application for construction of side -walks and curbs were
regd as follows:
F.G. Sauer- 198 feet full width cement sidewalk and cement
curbing, in front of Lots, 6 -7, Block 88,
T.A. Greenleaf- To repair 50 feet of sidewalk in front of
Lots 4 -5 & 6, Block 88e
On motion of Geo. H. Andrews:�seconded) y Dick Sanders the
foregoing applications for permits were granted.
Moved by L.F. Sinsheimer s.ec.onded by Dick Sanders that
Geo. H. Andrews be nominated Vice- President of the Council.
Motion carried by the following vote: Ayes:- Dick Sanders, L.F.
Sinsheimer, H.A. Gorrman, W.IaI. Stover.
Yr. Southard appears in the matter of the opening of

Murray Street , and as the matter had been taken up by the
Council before, he, asked that the Council take some immediate
action in the matter if possible.
On motion of L.F. Sinsheimer seconded by-Dick Sanders
the City Attorney was instructed to communicate with the
Southern Pacific Railroad Company declaring the intention of the
Council to open said Murray Avenue. Motion carried.
Report of City Treasurer for the month of April, 1915
was read and ordered placed on file*.-
Remarks were made by Commissioner L.F. Sinsheimer as
follows:-
^ I have the - highest regards for the retiring Uayor::A.
Luchessa and Commissioner J.C. Hill, co- workers with whom I have
affiliated for the past four months, in r:hich time they gave
unceasing labar for the City of San Luis Obispo, unbiased, unselfish
and unprejudiced in thier efforts to ascertain that which was for
the best of the City. No man can do all he would like to de in
public office and no man can impress the public policy as he would
like to, but I think that these gentlemen have been all in all
for good in all thier work.
It eras on motion of Ge(;iH. Andrews seconded by Dick Sanders
that the abore remarks be recorded in the minutes. Motion carried,
Commissioner Geo, H. Andrews complimented the retiring Clerk, Mrs
Carrie G. Bridges on the efficiency and the assisstance she had
given the Council in all matters . On motion of L.F. Sinsheimer seconded
by Dick Sanders that the remarks of Mr. Andrews be incorporated in the
minutes. Motion carried.
Moved by L.F. Sinsheimer seconded by Geo. H. Andrews that the Council
now adjourn to meet May 20th at 7.30 o'clock P.M, Motion carried by the
following vote. Ayes: Geo. H.Andrews ,Dick Sanders, LF.Sinsheimer,H.A.Gowman
