Sinsheimer, Com..Andrews, Mayor Stover. Absent: None. q Communication read from City Attorney Gibbons, in re+ absence from City. Communication from Civic Club ig re- permission to hold Carnival, from Immigration and Housing Commission of.California in re- relief of destitute unemployed. It was moved by Com. Sinsheimer and seconded by Com. Andrews that the communication from the Civic Club be referred to the Com- missioner of Public Health and Safety with power to act.Carried. Disscussion on communication from the Commission of Imrni- gration and Housing. Matter laid over until next meeting. Mov- ed by Com. Sanders and seconded that the exeuse of absence of City N ' Attorney Gibbons be accepted. Carried. Application for Permit for side -walk was received from John :nos, Block 17, 30:.feet more or less. Application for Permit to build,. Llojd H. Patton, lot 22,Bk. 37, dwelling, cost � 800.00. Moved by Com. Sinsheimer and seconded by Com. Andrews that the applications be granted. Carried. Application for restaurant. license was received from Thomas Fickle and Joe Brovelli. Request for transfer of restaurant lic- ense was received for J.H.Uralde to T.A.Alrid Application «for Wholesale Liquor License, Retail Liquor:�Lic- ense, Restaurant Liquor License were read seriatim. Moved by Com. Sinsheimer and seconded by Com. Andrews that all Liquor licenses be referred to the Commmissioner of Public Health and Safety. Discu- ssion. Moved by Com. Sinsheimer and seconded by Com. Sanders to reconsider last motion. Carried. It was moved by Com. Gowmbn::!:•::;• and se- conded by Con. Sinsheimer that all the Liquor Licenses be granted under new Ordinance, except that one of Enos and Tamo. Carried. Licenses Application for Hotel and Lodging House: read seriatim, it was moved by Com. Gowman and seconded by.Com. Sanders that all the Hotel and Lodging House licenses be granted except that of E.D. Hen- dershot and Daisy DeSassit . Carried. Application for Restaurant Licenses read seriatim, it was move ed Com. Gowman and seconddd Com. Andrews that the Restaurant license ' be granted. Carried. Application for Cigar store licenses read ser- iatim. Moved by Com. Cowman and seconded by Com. Sinsheimer that the Cigar Store Licenses be granted. Carried. Application for Garage, Livery Stable,Laundry, Bakery, Shooting Gallery,.Bottling-;'dorks and Creamery Licenses read seriatim, it was 200 it was moved by Com. Sinsheimer and seconded by Com. Andrews that. all applications for licenses just read be granted. Carried. The transfer of license ::.of Julidus H. Uralde to T.A. Alarid was referred to the Com. Of Public Health and Safety and Chief of Police. The following persons are reported as running lodging houses without license; and were referred to the Com. Public Health and Safety and Chi &f of Police, to report to the Council: Mrs W.S.G. Harris, Mrs Kaufmann, Mrs Harper, Mrs Geo. Balker, Mrs Younglove, Mrs I.H.Mitchell, Mrs Chapman, upon motion of Com. Sinsheimer & seconded by Com. Andrews, Carried. The matter of putting in order the hitching posts and water t "9h on Fremont H-eighti§ was referred to Com. Sinsheimer of Public Works and Com. Andrews of Public Supplies. It was moved by Com. Andrews and seconded by Com. Sinsheimer that the matter of the Theatre License be referred to the Com. of Public Health and Safety. Carried. Mr. Enos out of town, Mr Tamo appeared before the Council and was informed of the conduct carried on in his saloon and re- ceived a reprimand, and the Jlaw of the new liquor ordinance was cited to him. It was moved by Com. Gowman and seconded by Com. Sanders that the license of Enos and Tamo be granted. Carried, all voting aye ,except Com. Andrewsr who voted "no,-:I The City Clerk was directed to inform the City Collector that in future no licenser- was to be collected from the tailors of this It was moved by Com. Of Public Works and Supt. of Streets with power to,act,ugon motion of Com. Andrews seconded by Com. Gowman, Notion, Carried. Com. Sinsheimer of Public Works discussed the matter of.the ad- y ' vivability of purchasing a piece of land for a Sewer Farm., and pre- sented option or lease of *V.F.Wood property for consideration. Moved by Com. Andrews and seconded by Com.
