Regular meeting City. Council called to order by rlayor Stover.
Roll Call; Present, Commissioners Dick Sanders, H.A.Gowman, Geo. H.Andrews and
W.M.Stover. Absent: Commissioner L.F.Sinsheimer.
The minutes of Sept. 5th and 11th .wer-B read and approved as corrected.
The motion of Geo. H.Andrews in re Gas bill corrected to read - - -800 of same be
tendered,and in lieu of acceptance same be paid City Collector.
The City Clerk reported that &irs Shafer,, Mrs. Chapin and N.Troy had
paid their license for the present quarter for restaurant , lodging house and
monumental works respectively, and that li1m. O'Dell had discontinued his business
of Feed and Sale Stable.
It was the sense of the Council that Il.Troy nay all back license ,
covering a period of two years.

The City Attorney to,take up:the matter
From State Board of Health urging that a representative of the City of
San Luis Dbispo be sent to the annual conference of State, City and h1unicipal Health
officials to be held at Visalia from Oct 9th to 14th 19160
From Automobile Club of Southern California - extending thanks to the
Council for giving said Club permission to erect direction signs at various points
within the City.
From Allen H. Wright, City Clerk,of San Diego, urging that delegates to
the Visalia Convention support that City for the Conventio: in 19174 '.
On motion of H.A.Gowman seconded by Geo. H.Andrews the communications
were ordered placed on file.

On motion of Geo.H..AndrewS seconded by Dick Sanders the report of..the City
Treasurer for the month of August was received aad ordered filed.
On motion of Dick Sanders seconded by H.A.Gowman the report of Police Judge
Rhodes for the month of August was received and ordered filed.
,. A petition was received from the Santa Idaria Gas and Power Co., asking permission
to install street lights at the following locations within the City, with the right of
removal or substitution: -
Corner of Nipomo and Islay St.
Corner of Marsh and Osos St.
Corner of Morro and Monterey St.
Corner of Chorro and Ubnterey S-., •and:.also at 1117 Chorro St., in front of
Office of Santa Maria Gas and Power Co. .
It was moved by Dick Sanders and seconded by H.A.Gowman that the above petition
be granted. The motion carried.
Petition of Harry Rowan and C. Van Proyen for transfer of all licenses issued
in the name of Rowan and Van Proyen to Harry Rowan.
On motion of Dick Sanders seconded by Geo. H.Andrews the above petition was
referred to the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety. ...
A petition signed by 27 residents of South side Addition was received, urging
that a Street light ( Gas or Electricity ) be established and maintained at the
intersection of High and Harris Sts.
On motion of Geo. H.Andrews seconded by H.A.Gowmanthe above petition was referred
to the Commissioner of Public Vorks.

On motion of Dick Sanders seconded by Geo. H.indrews the claim of the
Los Angeles Rubber Stamp Co., was allowed for 3.50 , the contract price for
Utility Dater. Bill having been rendered for 3.75.
The Claim of R.JoGano in the sum of $ 11.25 for expense incurred in effort
to serve Bench 'Warrant in re ':;illiam Davidson, was allowed on motion of H.A.Gowman
seconded by Dick Sanders.
Mr. T.A.Greenleaf was present to enquire as to what steps might be taken to
prevent the destruction of property by tenants and,also the disposal of garbage
from rented and private houses , Hotels and Lodging Houses.
Discussion in re license of Auto Agent from Los Angeles who had been selling
Cars in this City.. It was moved by H.A.Gowman: and seconded by Dick Sanders that
the Chief of Police and City Attorney collect license of $ 20.00 for the present quarter.
Discussion in re the Conduct of a certain house at 964 Chorro St.
It was moved by Geo.,H. Andrews and seconded by H.A.Gowman that the City Attorney
communicate with the owners of said premises , informing them that it was the
determination of the Council to put a stop to such conduct.
On motion of H.A.Gowman seconded by Dick Sanders License Ordinance No.59
( New Series ) amending License Ordinance No.22 (New Series ) was passed to print
cs an Zmergency Ordinance , by the following Vote: Roll Call.
Ayes Dick Sanders, H.A.Gowman, Geo H.Andrew ,.WOM.Stover.
Noes : None.
Absent : L.F.Sinsheime -r.
