Adjourned meeting of City Council called.to order by.I.1ayor Stover,

Building permits received as follows : -

Application for permit to erect electric chime clock on National
Bank. Loved by Geo.H.Andrews and seconded by L.F.Sinsheimer that the
permit be granted. Carried.
Moved by L.F.Sinsheimer and seconded.by Geo.H.Andrews.that the
protest presented by Mr.S.V.VJright be read. Carried.

The protest having been read it was moved by Geo.H.Andrews and
seconded by L.F. Sinsheimer that the same be over -ruled and filed.
Carried.
The Santa Maria Gas and Power Company presented an estimate for

supplying gas and fixtures to City Hall for illumination and _ 1 pur-
poses. LIr Chandler stated that he would donate the gas fixtures for
illumination in the Council Chamber . Moved by L.F.Sinsheimer and
seconded by Geo.H. Andrews that the Commissioner of Supplies be em-
powered to investigate the matter and secure the necessary appliances.
Carried.
Mr Burch, Supt of Streets, presented map for Arlington Addn. as
per request of Council. Discussion in re- opening of Murry Ave.

City Attorney directed to communicate with S.P.H.H..in the mat-

ter of opening up Murray Ave.
Mr lathews appeared before the Council in re- donation to the
Bard. The matter to be taken up next meeting with full Board.
The matter of side -walks on Monterey street to be taken up next

meeting.
It was decided to scarify and roll upper Monterey street.
