City Hall, Monday, April 2d, 1917- 7 :30 P.M.

City Council met in regular session with ILayor Stover presiding.
ROLL CALL: Present, Commissioners H.A.Gowman,L.F.Sinsheimer., Geo. H. Andrews and
Mayor Stover.
Absent, Commissioner Dick Sanders.
Since the Council Chamber was used as.a polling place -and was occupied by the
Election officers it was moved by L.F.Sinsheimer and seconded by H.A..Gowman that the
meeting adjourn to Tuesday. evening April 3d 1917 at 7 :30 P.M...

City Council met in adjourned session with.Llayor Stover presiding.
ROLL CALL: Present, Commissioners L.F.Sinsheimer, Heo. H. Andeews and Mayor Stover,
Absent: Commissioners Dick Sanders and H.A.Gowman,
The minutes of lAerch 19th and 26th were read and approved as read.
A check in the sum of 4 35.96 was received from the State Compensation Insurance
Fund , being return premium.o.n.Policy with said Fund.
The City Collectors report for the month of March 1917,was received and ordered
filed on motion of L.F.Sinsheimer seconded by Geo. H. Andrews.
Application of the Santa Maria Gas and power Co., for permit to tap main and run
gas service on Palm St. between Chorro and Morro St; on Dana St. between Nipomo and Clay.
St. and on Islay St. between Beach and Carmel St.
On motion of Geo. H. Andrews seconded by L.F. Sinsheimer the applications
were granted.
Application received from the Midland Counties Public Service Corporation for
permit to open street for six feet from curb on Mill St., between Osos and Santa Rosa St.
for purpose of taping main for gas service.
On motion of Geo..H. Andrews seconded by L.F.Sinsheimer the permit was granted.
The following applications for licenses were.received:
C.K.Inao, lodging house; J.E. Price and J.D. Clark for Taxicabs.
On motion of L.F.Sinsheimer seconded by Geo. H. Andrews the same were referred
to the 0ommissioner of Public Health and Safety.for investigation.
Petition received from Blaz Bosnjak requesting a transfer of his licenses for
Cigars as sideline and Soft drinks to F.L.Sign and J.D. Clark.
On motion of L.F.Sinsheimer seconded by Geo. H. Andrews the matter was referred to
Commissioner Gowman for the customary investigatiom.
The applications of Domingos Rosa, Clara Orr and Frank Hampton for .lodging house
and those of Mrs. Li.E. Stephens and Dante Chiesa for Restaurant liquor and Taxicab
respectively and the petition of A.G.Simas for permission to place a barber pole at the.
curb line in front of the St. James Hotel, all of which were referred from the last meeting
for investigation were again taken up.
