The reports of the City Clerk and the City Treasurer for the month of October were received and ordered filed on motion of H. B. Kirtland seconded by John Chapek. On motion of H. B. On motion of H. 3. rirtland seconded by John Chapek the applications were granted. B. Kirtland seconded by John Chapek. The matter of the transfer of the lodging house license of Mrs. L. Redden to I:1rs. Dora Knudsen was referred to Commissioner Gowman for investigation on motion of H. ".7. Kirtland seconded by..John Chapek. The apDIication of I:I. J. Castro for a livery :knd Teed stf:ble license which had been referred for investigation, was granted upon motion of H.. A. Gowman second- ed by H. 3. Kirtland. It was moved by H. B. San Francisco - 4000 ft. 4" Class "B" Cast Iron Pipe at X70.00 per ton of 2000 lbs. United States Cast Iron Pipe and Foundry Co., San_ Francisco - 4000 linear ft. 4" Class "B" Pipe at ;;67.00 per ton of 2000 libs. Americ :an Cast Iron ?ipe Co., San Francisco - 4000 ft. 4 "- 12' lengths at �'kG5.75 net ton or. 71J per linear ft. or 4000 ft. 4 "- 16' lengths at x66.75 net ton or 70 per linear ft. The bid of the American Cast Iron Pipe Co. being the lowest and best bid submitted, it was moved by H. B.Zirtland and seconded by H. A. Gowman that the said bid be accepted, that the chatter of the lengths of pipe be .left to Commissioner Sir_sheimer and Ur. Burch and that the Commissioner of-supplies proceed with the purchase of the pipe. Er. Chapek reported that several weeks ago he had sold pipe belonging to the City at auction; Mr. W. T. Dibbles v:as the highest bidder and the pipe was sold to him but that no payments had yet been mane. On motion of H. A. Gowman seconded by H. B. Kirtland the matter was left in the hands of the Commissioner of Supplies and the City Attorney with power to act. Upon the suggestion by the Iiayor that South Broad St. from the P. C.riRailroad Crossing to the City limits, Plonterey St. from the Pavilion to the City limits and Osos St. from Higuera St. to the S. P. Depot be scarified and rolled and put in passable condition. It was moved by H. A. Gowman:and seconded by John Chapek that the City Engineer be instructed to do the necessary work on the streets mentioned. The motion prevailed.
