Adjourned meeting City Council called to order by Haycr Stover.

The following applications for permits to build were recieved:and granted
on motion of H. B. Kirtland seconded by John Chapek:
D. F. Mahoney - Lot 1, Block 9 Central Addn. Frame Garage - Cost $100.00
R. F. Richardson Part Lot 3,Block 100 Frame Residence and
Undertaking Parlor - Cost 1200.00
The following applications for sidewalk and curbing were filed:
San Luis Obispo School Dist. - 450 ft. of cement curbing and gutter on the
South side of Pacific St. between Ilipomo and Beach St. Block 2
Ed Elberg - 98 ft. full width cement sidewalk on the Ilorth side of Pismo St.
between Santa-Rosa and Toro St. Block 200
Ed Elberg - 150 ft. full width cement sidewalk on the East side of Santa Rosa
St. between Pismo and °acific St. Block 200.
On motion of John Chapek seconded by H. A. Gowman the same were granted.
The Midland Counties Public Service Corporation requested permit to open
trench on Palm St. between Chorro and Morro St. for the purpose of making gas
service connections. The request was granted on motion of H. A. Gonm an
seconded by L. 14'. Sinsheimer.
The applications of Jacob Kukar for.Feed Stable, John Vega for Restaurant,
Friary Berry for Bodging House, the petition of Mrs. L. Hedden for transfer of
lodging House license to sirs. Dora Knudsen and the petition of F. C. Azevedo
for transfer of Restaurant and Restaurant Liquor license to Maria C. Azevedo
were ordered . granted on rr.otion of H. A. Gowman seconded by John Chapek with
the exception of the application of friary Berry, she heving but theee rooms and
not required to have license.
Applications for the regular quarterly licenses were presented and re-
ferred to the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety on motion of L. F.
Sinsheimer seconded by John Chapek.
A petition was presented requesting the cour-icil to take immediate action
toward closing of certain houses in what is know as the "I?ed Tight District"
also• lodging houses harboring persons of immoral character.
The matter was discuesed at length. It was moved by L. F. Sinsheimer
and seconded by H. B. 'Kirtland that the petition be received and filed and
referred to the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety.
Ordinance No. 66 (Bev; Series) Designating the Commissioners of the De-
partments of Finance and Revenue, Public Health and Safety, Public Works
and Public Supplies of the City of San Luis Obispo was presented, read and rm
passed to print or, motion of H. B. Kirtland seconded by H. A. Goan by the
