HomeMy WebLinkAbout03/11/19181 1 i City Hall, Monday, Mch 11th 1918- 7 :30 P.M. Council met in, adjourned session with Mayor Stover presiding. ROLL CALL Present, H.B. Kirtland,H.A. Gowman, L.F. Sinsheimer, John Chapek, W.M. Stover. Absent,, None. C6mmunication was received' from C. R. Mayhall' in behalf of the property owners in the vicinity of Nard.and_Sandercock Sts., requesting that a Gas light standard be in- stalled at that location. On motion of John Chapek seconded by H. B. Kirtland the communication was order- ed on file. The application of Mrs. Dora Reidy for' permit to' repair a bgilding in Lot 3 Block 181 at a cost of $200.00'was granted upon motion of L. F. Sinsheimer seconded by H. B. Kirtland. The Noble Electric Steel Co. applied for permit to erect a loading platform with approaches on the Southern Pacifid right of way at the crossing of Higuera St. and Johnson Ave. same to cost J600.000 A number of property owners of that section were present to protest against the erection of same. It was moved by H. A.-Gowman and seconded by L. F. Sinsheimer that the matter be laid over for one week.- The motion carried and it was so ordered. Later in the evening a representative of the above named company appeared and. requested that he be allowed to withdraw the application. The request was granted upon motion of H. A. Gowman seconded by H. B: Kirtland.. Archie Foster requested permit to erect a barbed wire fence, enclosing -Lots 49 5 & 6 Block 4 Norton's Addition. The Ordinance governing the erection of such fences was brought to the attention of the Council and the matter was laid over to the next meeting. The application of Rockwell & Iditchell for a Restaurant and Restaurant liquor licnese was referred to the Commissioner of Public Health & Safety for investigation, on motion of H. B. Kirtland seconded by John Chapeko The application of Peter iietto for license to conduct a Restaurant at 1014 Morro St, was referred to the. Commissioner of Public Health and Safety on motion of L. F. Sinsheimer seconded by H. B. Kirtland. On motion of H. B. Kirtland seconded by John Chapek the application of Gin Forn Hing for license fcr laundry was referred to Conunissioner Gowman. The petition of Peter Netto for a transfer of his interest in the Retail liquor.license issued in the firm name of Hampton & Netta, to Ed Hampton, was re- ferrbd to the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety, on motion of L. F. Sinsheimer seconded by John Chapek. The report of the City Treasurer for the month of February was received and ordered filed on motion of L. F. Sinsheimer seconded by H. B. Kirtland. On motion of H. B. Kirtland seconded by John Chapek, the report of the Pound Faster for the month of February was received and ordered on file. The petition of John Pedrizetti for transfer of his interest in the license of P. & J. Pedrizettii to Joe Moranda and that of Roy H. Haver for transfer of his interest in the license issued in the firm name of Haver & Kenyon to H. L..Kenyon, both having peen referred at the last meeting, were granted upon motion of H. A..
