Council met in adjourned session with Commissioner H.A. Gowm,:a presiding.

A co-,nunication from t'ne Bureau of Salvage of the Pacific Division of the American
Red Cross was read,in which it vies requested.that the Council pass a 'Resolution ordering
all Offices and Departments of the City Government to turm•over to the Salvage department
of the local Red Cross Chapter such waste articles as may be of value to them.
In accordance pith the request , on -potion of H.B. Kirtland seconded by John Chapek ,
Resolution No. 99 ( New Series ) was adopted by the following vote :
byes: H.B. Kirtland, H.A. Gowman, John Chapek.
Noes hone. Absent, L.F. Sinsheimer and W.M. Stover.
On motion df John Chapek seconded by H.3. Kirtland the following applications for
permit to build were ordered granted;
San Luis Ice & cold Storage Co. Block 113 needs Addn. Corrugated Iron Garage,Cost 1`100.
Claude ii. Barman- Lot 5 3lock 1 'Cdeills Addn.- Sleeping -orch= Cost N 100.60
Elizabeth Rainey - Lot 9 Block 201 Dallidet ::ddn. Repairs, Cost ' 700.00

The application of Jacob'Kukar for license for Taxicab was referred to the
Commissioner. of Public Health and Safety on motion of H.B. Kirtland seconded by John Chapek.
The petition of the ?icy :vice. Stages for permit to build an entrance for the
passage of Automobiles into the premises at 876 ISontorey St„ and also , to place a _
gasoline pump and tank in front of said premises ,.was referred to the Commissioners of
Public Health and Safety and Public Works for investigation, on motion of H.B. Kirtland
seconded by John Chapek.
On motion of H.B. Kirtland seconded by John Chapek Ordinance IIo. CS ( New Series )
Regulating the business of Advertising by the distribution of Posters , Dodgers or
advertisements of any kind, prohibiting distribution thereof in certain places in the
Cit77 of San Luis Obispo and providing a penalty for its violation v:as finally pas: =ed
by the following vote:
Ayes: H.B. .irtland, H.A. Govannn, John Chapek.
Iloes: Tione. Absent: L.F.. Sinsheimer and VJ.L. Stover.
The bids of :E...j._ 2ayae aid the F.F. _Iioore Co. , received. on April 22d for the
construction of the harsh St._ Sewer Extension, Division "_H which . were taken under
�i advisement for one week, were taken up. It was moved by H.D. Kirtland and seconded
.+� by John Chapek that the bids be rejected that the certified checks be. returned to the
- respective bidders and that it.be the sense of the Council that Commissioner of
Public ',:orks, John Chapek,be instructed to proceed with the construction of said Sewer work.
The motion carried and it w.as so ordered.

Idarsh Street-as advertised for, in accordance with plans end s7)ecifications , for the
