Sinsheimer. The application of Chas. Ovendale for permit to repair building owned by Diary J. Lowe in Block 17 was granted on motion of H.A. Gowaan.seconded by H.B. Kirtland. p On.behalf of the North End Improvement.Club Attorney Wm. Shipsey presented a Deed ` of Gift to the City, covering.the property..recently purchased for a public Automobile • Camp.Ground or Park;-to wit : Lot C and Lots 1,2,3,11,12,and 13 of Block 137 of C.H. Phillips Addition to the Oity of San Luis Obispo, It was moved by H.A. Gowman and seconded by H.B. Kirtland that the Deed of Gift be accepted and that the Mayor be authorized to sign the acceptance. The motion was carried and it was so ordered. The application of F. Tercis for.Sewer connection on Mill Street between North Broad and Chorro Street was granted on motion of H.B..Kirtland seconded by H.A. Gowman. The application of Manuel Thomas for permission to conduct a Restaurant at 681 Higuers.Street was granted on notion of H.A. Gowman seconded by H.B. Kirtland. The applications for the regular quarterly .li.censes which were referred from the last meeting were granted on motion of H.A.. Gowman seconded by H.B. Kirtland. On motion of H.A. Council:•met'in regular session ;-.Mayor.Stover_.presiding. Present , H.B. Kirtland,.H.A. Gowman ,.L.F. Sinsheimer, John Chapek, W.M. Stover. Absent , None. The minutes of Dec. 16th and 23d were read and approved as read. The reports of the City Collector, Police Judge and Pound Master for the month'of December were received and ordered filed on motion of H.B. Kirtland seconded by H.A. Gowman. On motion of H.B. Kirtland seconded by H.A. Gowman the application of Eliza Shipman for permit to repair building in Block 32 was ordered granted. On motion of John Chapek seconded by H.B. Kirtland the Mid. Co. Public Service Corporation was granted permit to open trench on Morro Street between Upham and Church Street. ' The application of Garrett Hansen tar Taxicab license referred to Commissioner Gowman -on motion of H.B. Kirtland seconded by John Chapek. - A petition was received for street grading and graveling on Santa Rosa Street between Buchon and Leff Streets. On motion of H.A. Gowman seconded by H.B. Kirtland the matter was, referred to the City Engineer and Commissioner Chapek who were instructed to proceed. with the work as soon as convenient. An application was filed by Joseph Wilson and Garrett Hansen for permit to operate an Automobile Stage service between the City of San Luis Obispo and Arroyo Grande and intermediate points, and requesting that a date be set for hearing . It was moved by H.A. Gowman and seconded by H.B. Kirtland that the Hearing be set for Monday , January 20th at 7 :30 P.M., and that due notice of said.Hearing be given by publication. The matter of Hearing of the petition of Paul G. Cochran _for,.p.ermit..to.operate a Motor Car freight line between Santa Maria and the City..of .San.,.Luis..0'bispo was taken up. Attorney W.C. Carpenter appeared for Ray Hearne and protested against the granting of .the osia petition:-.. On motion of H..A. Gowman seconded by H.B. Kirtland it was recommended that the petition be granted. Ayes: H.B. Kirtland,,H.A. Gowman, L.F. Sinsheimer, John Chapek, w.M. Stover. Noes None. Absent None. Resolution No 105 ( New Series ) granting permit to Paul G. Cochrane to operate Motor Car freight line between Santa Maria and the City of San Luis Obispo was introduced eau -•`~_ and on motion of H.B. Kirtland seconded by H.A. Gowman adopted by the following vote: Ayes: H.B. Kirtland, H.A. Gowman, L.F. Sinsheimer, John Chapek , W.M. Stover. Noes : None. Absent : None. Attorney Paul M. Gregg appeared for the Producers Transportation Co. , and requested extension of time in re the matter of adjustment of amount due the City of San Luis Obispo for pipe line franchise. It was moved by.H.B. Kirtland and seconded by John Chapek that the matter be left over to the next regular meeting- Jan 20th. The matter of Marsh Street paving was again taken up. It was moved by H.A. Gowman and seconded by H.B. Kirtland that Resolution No. 106 ( New Series ) adopting plans for the Improvement of Marsh Street , be adopted. Ayes : H.H. Kirtland, H.A. Gowman, John Chapek,.W.M. Stover. Noes : None. Absent : None. L.F. Sinsheimer declined to vote. Agreements for. annual pumping rights at.the Laguna.for the year 1919, between the U City of San Luis Obispo and the .following named parties and in the following named amounts 0 were presented. Henry and Elizabeth Johe, $ 350.00; Henry and Elizabeth Johe, $ 150.00 , pumping plant site; Estate of Peter Richini, $ 350.00; L. Alberti, $ 350.000 It was. moved by L.F. Sinsheimer and seconded by H.A. Gowman that the Agreements be ratified and signed by the Mayor and City Clerk.. Motion carried. Claims ;againat:;.the;.;Cty.. for. the month of December were read. It was moved by H.B..Kirtland and seconded by John Chapek that the bills be paid, also the claimsof Henry and Elizabeth.Johe for J', 175.00; Henry and Elizabeth Johe � 75.00; Estate Peter Richini, $ 175,00.and L.Alberti, � 175.00 , the same.being semi - annual payment for pumping rights at Lagunf.as per above mentioned Agreements. 1 1 r
