Resolution No. 120 ( Ilew Series ) , granting to -4irm. B. ' hitesede, permit to
operate motor light freight and passenger stage line between Lemoore and the City of
San Luis Obispo, in accordance with the permit governing the sate , was introduced and
adopted on motion of H.H. Kirtland seconded by James .iper by the following vote ;
Ayes : H.B. Kirtland, H.b. Gowman, Jas. Piper, John Chapek, L.F. Sinsheimer.
Noes None. Absent Yone.
On motion of E.o. Gowman seconded by H-3. -�_"irtland the Bonds of Chas. Bowden,
Pound ueerer; A.F. Fitzgerald, City Treasurer W.F. Cook, Chief of Police;
14.5. Sanders, Captain of Police and H.7. Putnam, Police Judge were approved.
The applications for the regular quarterly licenses were received and referred
to the Commissioner of 1'ublic Health and wwfety, for investigation and report.
On motion of John Chapek seconded by James Piper the labor bills were ordered paid.
In re raise in salaries of City Employees:
It was moved by John Chapek
(�- tand seconded by James Piper that the salary of the teamsters employed by the City of
San Luis Obispo be increased from $ 80.00 to 4 90.00 per month, commenciriC July 1st 1919.
The motion carried and it was so ordered.
It was moved by John Chapek and seconded by Jamee riper that the salary of
Salvador Mendes, Assistant :later Supt., be raised from $ 100.00 to �� 115.00 per month ,
commencing July 1st. 1919. The motion carried and it was so ordered..
On motion of John Chapek seconded by E.B. Kirtland it was ordered that the
day laborers employed by the City be paid on a graduated scale of from $ 3.00 to z 4.00
per day, commencing July lst.1919.
On motion of E.B. Kirtland seconded by James Piper Dr. H.A. Gowman was granted
leave of absence for a period of sixty days to take effect June 22d 1919.
It was moved by H.B.irtiand and seconded by Jihn Chapek to adjourn to
Mionday June 23d at 7:30 P.L.

Cormunicetion received from A,1,11. Ye Lie requesting that he be allowed to carry
the maximum amount of gasoline in the premises knoiin as 11c Kies Cleaning rorka,at 1019
Court Street. It was moved by James Piper and seconded by ,john Uhapek that Isar. Yc die
be permitted to store on his premises such quantities of gasoline as insurance underwriters
will permit.
The Chief of Police was instructed to look into the matter of the storage of
. gasoline and explosives in the City limits and report to the Council at the next meeting.
